We’re still playing catchup on the playlist posts. It’s a shame I’m so attached to Apple Music because one of the key releases I wanted to share is not available via Apple Music: the Appleville Golden Ticket. Appleville was A.G. Cook’s digital music festival and it was sooo good. Read more about it below.Continue reading
The last time I posted a playlist was August 21st, for the July edition. Today is November friggin’ 8th. That means we are gonna do some speedrunning and catch up. That means quick comments and quips, but mostly just album art pics!
It really is a shame that I have slacked on the playlists. PC Music lovers were fed A.G. Cook music. Hyperpop has really taken off as a “thing” for better or for worse. Vin Diesel released a song (*shrug*)Continue reading
This week I low key wish that this blog series was a group project and I could let someone else do all the work! OH WELL. Here are the reposts from the good old camera roll.

Wow! This is the 10th volume of Music Memes. Yes, I am just stealing memes and reposting them on my site. No, it isn’t totally clear why I decided to start doing this. I just wanted to play around with internet traffic, grabbing eyeballs online, and ‘growing an audience’ (eye roll).
I am still thinking of ways to go beyond music memes. Maybe regular memes? Video game memes? Maybe I can start blogging about life in general? Post twitch clips now that I’m a gamer.
My love of kebabs will tear me apartContinue reading
Finally put in the time and worked on a pop mix. tl;dr I bought a Roland DJ 202 Controller a year ago and I am just now putting in the time to learn it. The mix is 8 tracks in 13 minutes spanning the PC Music-to-Poptimist spectrum. Nothing too fancy, but I’m proud of the result. I feel compelled to say “follow me on soundcloud.”Continue reading
A lot of great music was released this month, so my April Playlist is pretty jam-packed: Charli XCX, Fiona Apple, Rina Sawayama, some great remixes, and a smattering of random great tracks. Quarantine has got me listening to a lot more music these days; I don’t know why I feel so compelled to start writing and sharing it, but here we are. I’ll be (hopefully) keeping up with maintaining monthly playlists. My past playlists are here. Throw me a follow on Pinterest or Apple Music while you are at it.Continue reading
Friday night 100 Gecs‘ hosted Square Garden, a music festival within the video game Minecraft. The festival combined some of the best names in hyperpop or whatever you want to call this genre: Charli XCX, Fraxiom, Gupi, KKB, Umru and AG Cook. Truly an incredible 3 hours of music. My favorite sets from youtube below.Continue reading
Charli XCX released Claws today, earlier than originally expected. She teased the second verse of this banger 1 or 2 weeks ago along with a few other demos and ideas. The fans pushed her to release this track and helped with the name. Other names that had been under consideration were “Clementine” (which Troye Sivan preferred) and “Everything About You”Continue reading
SOPHIE’s Sunscreen has leaked. Prior to April 18, when Soundcloud user romvnz posted it, fans had been scraping by on live recordings of this track. Fans have thirsted after this track almost as much as they have for Charli XCX’s unreleased Taxi. Listen to the SOPHIE Sunscreen leak below. Check out SOPHIE Memes here.
Update Jan 2021: Rest in Paradise, SOPHIE. You literally changed music.
As for the leak, the original soundcloud was taken down. Instead, listen to Sun Screen from the HEAV3N SUSPENDED set, starting at 13:37 (note, this version is mixed with her remix of Fletcher’s song “Forever”):Continue reading
Update January 2021: Rest in Paradise, SOPHIE. You literally changed music.
SOPHIE is a trans icon in music, but also a great source of memes. She started as a fairly mysterious entity in the PC Music scene, though was never officially signed to the label. Still, SOPHIE has become a huge success in her own right, producing for Madonna, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga.
